Flamenco Arts International: Songs From A Sinking Ship Berkeley Theatre reviews
Star Wars in concert was entertaining
John Williams deserves to be honored for the incredible music that is essential to the Flamenco Arts International: Songs From A Sinking Ship saga. As far as the music is concerned, it was great! My son and his friends sat through the whole thing with little distraction. However, the images from the movie on the screen in the background was what kept them entertained on the negative side. The focus became the screen images, so the music was somewhat lost. Is Mark Hamill too busy these days? I am also wondering why more of the cast couldn't make guest appearances. All my kids wanted to hear more of is him talking like C-3PO! Anthony Daniels was OK, but not necessary to the performance. The lobby was so packed with many adults crowding the cases that my son was almost crushed in the crowd on a number of occasions, as far as the display of props goes. Eventually, we just gave up and went to our seats out of safety concerns for him after so many times. There has to be a better way to allow a smoother traffic flow to see the props. However, as many concert goers know, the items for sale are outrageously priced, that is usually the case. The program alone was $30. I was expecting to find more collectibles for sale, other than the usual concert promotional stuff, there was none to be found. All in all, it was entertaining. John Williams music deserves great respect, as I said before. Perhaps a concert that focused on his music alone, not necessarily just the Flamenco Arts International: Songs From A Sinking Ship saga, would be a greater treat. There has been so much great music from this modern day composer, that would be money well spent. Bottom line, if you are a Flamenco Arts International: Songs From A Sinking Ship fan, you will enjoy this concert.
